VirCamp-Social Work Virtual Campus

The VirCamp - Social Work Virtual Campus is the outcome of collaboration by various European universities within the context of the EUSW – European Social Work Commonalities and Differences – Network, which emerged from the VIRCLASS (Virtual Classrom for Social Work in Europe) project and is currently coordinated by Thomas More University of Applied Sciences (Belgium).

Both VirCamp and its VIRCLASS predecessor are pioneering programmes in terms of international social work teaching and learning. Vircamp is a collaborative online international learning (COIL) project implemented via virtual classroom and e-learning platforms.

VirCamp benefits from the participation of students and academic staff from European and international universities that are members of the VirCamp Consortium, including the UCM Faculty of Social Work (one of the founding members of the Consortium).

VirCamp modules are taught entirely in English and the ECTS credits available are counted as part of the official curriculum for the Social Work degree. While at UCM, visiting Erasmus+ students are also invited to participate in VirCamp and can obtain ECTS credits as a result.
